Alessandro Scarlatti was famous for his
operas and cantatas but these toccatas show
virtuosity, brilliance and melody. Raick was a
priest and lawyer; he played the organ and
harpsichord and whilst living in Leuven wrote
5 suites for keyboard. Forqueray was French
and his pieces have a strong rhythmic drive.
Bernardo Pasquini was a well-known keyboard
player and this is one of his simpler suites.
Played and recorded by Nigel Deacon, Oct 2023 - Jan 2024.
