Much of the above music is from the baroque era and was written for harpsichord. The banjo pieces by F.G.Chapman were supplied by great-grandson Ian Chapman. F.G. was a banjoist with the ability to write a good tune; his advert from 1892 (37 Gt. Coram St, Brunswick Square, London) reads “Banjo taught in all styles, music composed, arranged and copied; several other instruments taught.“
