THE ELIZABETHAN BEAUTY LAW....2005
R4, 09 December 05, Afternoon Play. London, 1587. The Embellishment Law ruled that any woman trapping a man into marriage through self-adornment could be tried as a witch. Florence Whitsheet becomes the test case after her new husband removes her carefully constructed clothes on her wedding night. With Annette Badland, Amanda Root, Alan Cox and John Rowe. Directed by Lu Kemp.

....The Elizabethan Beauty Law, which imagines how a law passed by Elizabeth I, against women trapping men into marriage by embellishing their natural looks, might work out in real life. This was by Lizzie Hopley, and I heard good reports of it. (....excerpt from VRPCC newsletter, Dec 05).
