Potatoes - Potato Shape

Not a lot to say here; the situation is complex.

Salaman showed that round tubered varieties breed more or less true with respect to shape.

Oval tubers when selfed give all types - long, oval and round.

The difference between long and round is thought to be due to a single gene which is incompletely dominant for round tuber shape.
