Potatoes - Saxon

Good flavoured modern second early. About midway between floury and waxy; doesn't disintegrate or discolour on cooking. Susceptible to blight (3) but good disease resistance. No flowers when grown in pots; yield 2-3 lb in 3 gallon containers. Dry matter content 4.

I have not grown it in the ground. It is now (May 2010) stocked by our local Co-Op.

This is an English variety, introduced 1992. It comes from the Cambridge research station (now known as Cygnet PB).
